RIP CHRISTOPHER WALLACE AKA THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G
Today (March 9th) is the 13th anniversary of the death of the Notorious B.I.G. The rapper was gunned down in his car while leaving a party in Los Angeles. It was an incident that shocked the world, not just those into hip hop!
I can’t believe it has been 13 years since then, as it seems like just yesterday I heard the news. This was the days before Twitter (the place I usually find out a celeb has died these days) and Facebook, and the internet wasn’t as much of a news buzz pot as it is today. I think a friend told me.
But despite no longer being with us physically, Biggie’s music most definitely lives on, mainly through his now classic albums Ready to Die and Life After Death. I still love listening to both and no one in hip hop has come close to what he bought to the table since.
The great thing about Biggie is that he appealed to men and women, but rather than it being about looks for the women it was his charm, wit and flow that we bought into. His story-telling through his rhymes is now legendary. He had lyrics and punchlines for days, nuff of which are quoted over and over to this day – most music fans can recite a Biggie lyric!
R.I.P: Christopher Latore Wallace: May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997
Below is a selection of some of his videos- all great songs. My fave song: Juicy, fave video: Sky is the Limit and One More Chance

I don’t even know what else I can say here to do it any justice…
But I was a B.I.G. fan since early-’93… when ‘Ready to Die’ dropped in ‘94, I was nutso about it. The ‘Best of Biggie’ mixtape in ‘95 hit hard and I musta played that thing to death for almost a whole year. Then, Life After Death was damn near the only album I loved in ‘97. All that stuff was part of my high school soundtrack… B.I.G. is my favorite MC of all time, bottom line.
