X-FACTOR USA AND THE NEW SINITTA????

I’ve been watching X-Factor USA, on and off, in between keeping up with the UK version. This week I tuned in to see the first live shows, which was also the week each of the judges (L.A Reid, Simon Cowell, Nicole Sherzinger and Paula Abdul had to eliminate one of their own acts, just like Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and co had to in the UK versions, a couple of weeks previous.
Anway, Simon is looking after the girls category this year and one of his contestants was 21-year-old college student, Simone Battle. I say ‘was’ as she was one of the ones to be eliminated this week. Pretty girl, can sing and dance, but a bit jarring and OTT in a Kitty (from the UK shows) kinda way. Anyhow, fellow judge L.A Reid was very disrespectful in terms of his feedback on her performance and didn’t hold back on openly berating Simon on why he would even think about putting her through in the first place.
I understand Simon’s logic. She has a ego confidence and dare I say ‘swag’ which the other female contestants just don’t have. She definitely didn’t have the best voice out of all the girls, but she certainly had the ‘look’ and something unique and special – the x-factor possibly.
After she got eliminatedshe wasted no time in plugging her new single, He Like Boys (Who’s EVER done something like that on one of these shows??? LOL), right there on the stage, which I was immediately intrigued to check out, and that’s when it hit me…
The real reason Simon had been championing this girl…. I know you all see it too. At first I thought she was a bit of a Nicole Sherzinger clone, but now this girl reminds me so much of Sinitta, especially in the above video! They say your first love is hard to forget, eh Simon?
Keeping her in his close circle, giving her a role on the British version of the show each year even though we all know she’s got no business being there, and now this! What must Sinitta have on our Simon??? More importantly though – is the world ready for a new ‘Sinitta’ to hit the charts? I actually liked the original’s hit singles Toy Boy and Cross My Broken Heart back in the 80s, but I know I aint!
